DELIA'S BISCUITS
3 c. sifted self-rising flour
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. buttermilk

Put flour in a large bowl. Add shortening and cut it into the flour with a fork. Add the buttermilk a little bit at a time while constantly stirring with the fork. When this mixture becomes a stiff dough, turn it out on a floured dough board (or clean counter).

Knead lightly and pat out to a thickness of approximately 1/2 inch. Cut with a biscuit cutter and place in a greased bread pan. Bake at 400 degrees for approximately 10 minutes or until lightly browned.
