APPLE PIE FILLING 
1 1/2 qt. water
4 1/2 c. sugar
1 c. cornstarch
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. salt
Sliced apples for 7 qt.

Cook until thick. Add 3 tablespoons lemon juice. Place sliced apples in jars. Fill with syrup leaving 1 inch at top. Seal and place in hot water bath for 30 minutes. Can add yellow food coloring if desired.
