MARINATED STRING BEANS 
1 lb. cooked string beans
1 med. onion, chopped
1/2 c. vinegar
1 1/2 tbsp. cooking oil
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/2 c. sugar
1/4 c. water

Blend vinegar, 1/4 cup cold water, oil, salt, pepper and sugar. Arrange layers of beans and onions in baking dish; pour marinade over layers. Cover; chill overnight. Serves 4 to 5.
