APPLE STRUDEL CAKE
BASE:

1 pkg. cake mix (golden or spice)
1 cup (2 sticks) butter, melted
1 tsp. lemon juice

Preheat oven to 350°F.

Blend together dry cake mix, butter and lemon juice. Pat into a 9x12-inch pan. Bake for 10 minutes at 350°F.

FRUIT FILLING:

5 or 6 apples, sliced thin
1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 cup dairy sour cream
1 egg

Slice apples very thin (1/8-inch). Lay apple slices in rows, on top of base, slightly overlapping each other. Do a couple of layers (2 to 3).

Mix sugar and cinnamon together. Sprinkle over top of apples reserving 2-3 teaspoons for the topping.

Beat together dairy sour cream and egg. Drizzle over top of apples. Sprinkle remaining cinnamon sugar on top.

Bake at 350°F for 20 minutes or until apples are done.

Note: Cover the bottom of the pan with tin foil (shiny side out) if the bottom is overcooking.
