CHEESE PUFFS | |
1 lb. loaf unsliced white bread 2 (3 oz.) cream cheese 1 (8 oz.) pkg. sharp cheddar cheese 1 c. butter 4 egg whites, stiffly beaten Trim crust from all sides of bread, cut into 1 inch cubes. Set aside. Combine cheeses and butter in double boiler. Cook until cheese is melted. Remove from heat. Fold small amount of hot cheese mixture into egg whites. Fold into remaining cheese mixture. Use fork to dip each bread cube into cheese mixture, coating on all sides. Place cubes 1 inch apart on lightly greased baking sheet. Refrigerate overnight. Remove from refrigerator, bake at 400 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes. |
