BON-BON COOKIES 
1/2 c. (1 stick) butter
3/4 c. powdered sugar
1 tbsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. flour
Chocolate stars or nut meats or candied cherries or whatever you would like in the center

Mix softened butter and powdered sugar. Work in flour, add vanilla. Wrap dough around chocolate star and place about 1 inch apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes until set, but not browned. Cool and glaze.

GLAZE:

1 c. powdered sugar
1/4 tsp. vanilla
Enough water for spreading consistency

Tint glaze with food coloring if desired. Dip tops of cookies into glaze and decorate as desired with jimmies, non-pariels, chopped nuts, etc.
