YAM AND APPLE CASSEROLE 
3 lbs. yams, cooked in boiling water, drained & mashed (I use canned yams)
2 lbs. apples, cubed
3/4 c. brown sugar
Juice & grated rind of 1 lemon
1 tsp. nutmeg & cinnamon
1 stick butter

Grease casserole, mix ingredients, cover top with nuts. Bake, covered in 325 degree oven for 45 minutes. You may add raisins if you like raisins. Children love this dish.
