Made this many times. Easy to make, great flavor and the gravy is perfect.
Good recipe for a Sunday Dinner with family. I make and use the Gravy in many other dishes. Thank you Phyllis.

London Broil is a type of preparation in which flank steak is grilled and then sliced thinly against the grain. It is NOT a cut of meat unless your grocery store is extraordinarily ignorant of meat cuts. FLANK STEAK is used to make London Broil.

I am SO glad......everyone loves this recipe - as much as I do.

To those that have a bad gravy experience... bet you used the "spicy" Italian dressing. I apologize... I should have noted that it was to be the "simple plain" Italian dressing. I didn't realize (until too late)... this one thing - could ruin the entire thing. Again - I apologize for causing you an expensive loss... for what should have been a fantastic meal.

To anyone trying for first time... do NOT use the "zesty" Italian dressing (Use only the regular). Zesty destroys the taste... Sorry, I not put this in original recipe. At that time - did not realize the difference in flavors. Am thinking viewers that did not like this - probably used the zesty. Am so glad for everyone that did/does enjoy this.

Superb meal. 2 lb broil, whole small red potatoes, whole carrots and a big sweet onion quartered, 4 whole garlic segments - 7 hours. To lower the sodium I DIY ed the good seasons copycat and omited the salt and used McCormicks 50% less sodium brown gravey pack. Instead of the ranch pack I used 9 oz bottle of Kens buttermilk ranch. 12oz yungleng lager in place of water. I also pounded the meat and stabbed all over with a fork before rubbing with some of the DIY and ranch before marinating over night before. Next time I will bag up the DIY in cheese cloth to avoid excess Herb bits in the gravey and add some fresh mushrooms.

Am SO glad everyone is enjoying this recipe. Had to add something funny. A friend would prepare this recipe at night. She began to notice the gravy level was getting low each time she prepared. Waking up one night - she noticed her husband was not in bed... not in the bathroom. She went downstairs to check. Guess what! HE was dipping a huge tablespoon directly into the crock pot and eating the gravy... This is an absolute true story. I could never make this at night... as the aroma would wake me up. Thanks again for sharing your views.

Also have another recipe called "Old School Apple Crisp". It also is a keeper. Hope you continue to enjoy.

So great! A few notes... I've made this three times and once with a pork roast. My family enjoyed the beef with only 1/2 packet of Italian dressing mix, better than the full packet version. Threw in mushrooms and Brussels sprouts as well. With the pork roast, left out the Italian dressing mix and squeezed an orange into the gravy. Huge hit, so easy. Thanks to all who share your recipes!

I'm going to try this recipe this week. I really would like an easy way of doing London Broil.. however I do have one question. If so many women here have "picky" husbands why don't you let them do the dinners?

I am 82 years young, my son moved back home to help me and is a fussy eater. (I tease him, saying he's picked up this habit from his first grade students.) Phyllis, I must say this recipe is wonderful. I cut the meat across the grain before putting it in the crock-pot and it was nice and tender in two hours. Will serve with mashed potatoes and salad. Thank you Phyllis!

Instead of water, is it OK to use red wine?
