GLAZED APPLESAUCE COOKIES 
3/4 c. chopped dried apple slices
1 c. boiling water
2 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 tsp. allspice
1/2 c. butter, softened
1 c. sugar
1 lg. egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/4 c. sweetened applesauce
1 c. chopped pecans
1/2 c. dark raisins

GLAZE:

2 c. 10X sugar
2-3 tbsp. milk

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Combine apples and boiling water in small saucepan; set aside. Combine flour, cinnamon, baking powder, baking soda, salt, nutmeg and allspice in medium bowl. Beat butter and sugar in mixer bowl at medium speed until light and fluffy. Beat in egg and vanilla. With mixer on low, add applesauce, then dry ingredients just until combined. Drain apples and pat dry with paper towels. Stir into dough with nuts and raisins.

Drop by spoonfuls onto greased cookie sheets. Bake 10-12 minutes. Cool. Frost tops of cookies with glaze. Makes 5 1/2 dozen.
