FROSTED PEANUT BARS 
1/2 c. crunchy peanut butter
1/3 c. butter, softened
3/4 c. sugar
3/4 c. brown sugar
3 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla extract
2 c. unsifted all-purpose flour
1/4 tsp. salt

In a large bowl stir together peanut butter and butter until creamy. Gradually beat in sugars. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add vanilla. Sift in flour, baking powder and salt. Spread batter in a greased 13 x 9 inch pan. Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 30 minutes. Cool in pan.

FROSTING FOR PEANUT BUTTER BARS:

1/3 c. creamy peanut butter
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1/3 c. milk
2 1/2 c. confectioner's sugar

For frosting beat together creamy peanut butter and vanilla. Beat in 2 tablespoons milk and 1 cup of sugar until smooth. Gradually beat in remaining sugar and milk until smooth and of spreading consistency. Use to frost cooled peanut butter bars.

NOTE: We usually leave them unfrosted.
