NO PEEK OR FORGOTTEN COOKIES | |
2 egg whites 2/3 c. sugar Pinch of salt 1/3 c. nuts 1/3 c. chocolate chips Beat egg whites until stiff. Fold in sugar and salt. Continue beating until very stiff. Fold in nuts and chips. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cover cookie sheet with foil, drop by teaspoonful onto foil. Turn off oven after cookies are in. Leave in oven 4 hours, or, better, overnight. Do NOT open oven during this period. To vary, you may add a few drops of color and flavoring. When I bake holiday cookies, I make these last and go to bed. |
