OATMEAL COOKIES 
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening (Crisco)
2 eggs
6 tbsp. molasses (or thick syrup)
1 1/2 c. raisins
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
2 c. rolled oats
1/2 c. chopped nuts

Melt shortening and mix with sugar. Add beaten eggs and molasses. Sift flour, cinnamon, baking powder, soda, salt in bowl and add nuts and oats, combine all thoroughly and drop by teaspoons onto greased cookie sheet and bake about 15 minutes at 350 degrees.
