DOUBLE CHOCOLATE DROP COOKIES 
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 c. moist brown sugar, packed
1/2 c. chopped nuts
2 sq. unsweetened chocolate
1/2 c. shortening, half butter
1 tsp. vanilla
1 egg
3/4 c. milk

Grease baking sheet lightly. Heat oven to 400 degrees. Sift flour 4 times with salt and soda. Melt chocolate. Put brown sugar through sieve to remove lumps. Chop nuts. Cream shortening until smooth and shiny. Add sugar gradually. Stir in vanilla. Beat eggs until fluffy, then beat in cooled chocolate. Add flour and milk alternately in 3-4 portions beating smooth after each. Stir in nuts. Drop from teaspoon in mounds on baking sheet. Then bake about 10 minutes until just done - DO NOT OVER BAKE AND LET STAND ON SHEET A MINUTE BEFORE REMOVING. Swirl in chocolate icing. Let stand until icing is firm.
