MACARONI AU GRATIN (OLD-TIME) 
1/3 lb. macaroni
3/4 c. grated cheese
Salt and pepper to taste
White Sauce

WHITE SAUCE:

2 tbsp. butter
2 tbsp. flour
1 1/2 c. milk

Cook and drain macaroni.

Make white sauce by melting butter in saucepan. Add flour. Slowly add milk and stir until sauce boils. Cook 3 minutes and season with salt and pepper. Add 2/3's of cheese to sauce. Mix macaroni and sauce. Pour into casserole dish and add remaining cheese to top. Bake at 350 degrees until brown, 30 minutes.
