STEW WITH RICE & BLACK OLIVES 
1 lb. stew meat, bite-size
1/2 stick butter
1 med. chopped onion
1 lg. can tomatoes
1/2 green pepper, chopped
1 tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. garlic powder
1 tsp. black pepper
1 to 1 1/2 c. rice
1 c. black olives, sliced or chopped
3/4 c. wine

In large pot, melt butter, brown meat and add onions, salt, pepper and garlic. Add tomatoes, green pepper and 4 to 5 cups water. Set heat to high and boil for 10 minutes. Reduce heat and simmer 3 hours. Thirty minutes before serving, add olives, rice and wine.
