SALTINE SURPRISE 
30 to 35 saltine crackers (sm. sq.)
1 c. (2 sticks) butter
3/4 c. brown sugar (firmly packed)
12 oz. bag of chocolate chips
3/4 c. crushed walnuts

Line cookie sheet (about 11x17-inches) with foil. Cover with saltines (1 layer, side by side).

In small saucepan, boil butter and sugar for 3 minutes, pour evenly over saltines.

Bake in preheated 375°F oven for 5 minutes. Remove from oven. Immediately pour chocolate chips over baked saltines. Spread evenly like frosting.

Sprinkle with nuts. Cool in refrigerator until firm.
