When I make this I think I will probably make my own meatballs, I don't care much for frozen food in general and it will taste even better. I am thinking sweet chili sauce in place of Heinz would also taste really good.

I'm making these meatballs for the first time tomorrow for College Football game day. It seems like alot of jelly. I'm using frozen meatballs and after reading most of the comments, I think I will bake them first then add everything to a crockpot. Wish me luck!

These are great! I used turkey meatballs, so I added beef bouillon. I suggest regular meatballs. Add a tad of dry mustard. But thanks... good stuff.

I add a teaspoon each of cinnamon and vanilla. Makes it even better!

I have always used medium heat salsa or picante sauce in place of the chili sauce. Equal parts of each and adjust to the amount of meatballs needed. (Also works well with little smokies)

My mom adds a half can of beer to the recipe before simmering for 3 hours, it is wonderful!

I love this recipe. Rather than chili sauce, I use cocktail sauce. Very good!

I added 1 small can crushed pineapple and 1/2 cup packed brown sugar to the sweet and sour meatballs, cooked in a crock pot for at least 4 hours to heat through.

The only reason I make my own meat balls, is I don't like all the random stuff that is in pre-made ones. I think it was the anchovy paste that did it for me. Ughghghgh

This is the perfect blend of Jelly & Chili Sauce. If you wish to add a little kick to this, try 1/2 to 1 cup of Thai Peanut sauce.
