I use a bottle of sugar free Sweet baby ray's BBQ sauce and a jar of Smucker's grape jelly... they are delicious!

I have to say that these meatballs were a hit at my last party! The grape jelly added a nice sweetness to the chili sauce, and everyone loved them. I will definitely be making these again.

Try it with cranberry sauce and chili sauce over the meat balls. Its great!

If you make your own meatballs, you can add a little of this sauce to the mixture. It is very tasty. We serve it over rice.

I use peach mango salsa when I make these and add jalapeños for my family and they absolutely love them. And I use Pepper Jack cheese on the hoagie roll when I serve them.

Anyone tried this using sugar free grape jelly??

My friend made them and my Husband loved them, got them cooking now. It is the first time I've made them that's why I had to look it up to double check.

I was taught this recipe, but using Red Currant jelly instead of Grape. It tastes wonderful and not as sweet as with the Grape jelly. I've also made it with Sweet Hot Pepper jelly (home made). That tastes fantastic, too.

Like some others on here, at times our family has added pineapple, sweet onion, tomato, and bell pepper and served this over rice as a sweet and sour beef meal instead of an appetizer.

We made them in the ice shanty on the woodstove while fishing. Sacandaga lake N.Y. Huge hit and easy pleasy. Gonna try them today in crock and add some mustard. Peace out!

Are these spicy with the chili sauce?

I have made these for years but change one ingredient. I use Medium Salsa instead if chili sauce. I use grape jelly, and salsa pound per pound and meatballs, any flavor. Everyone really loves it. By the way instead of just making it for parties I sometimes make it for dinner served over rice. Family raves about it.

Been making meatballs similar for years. Maybe started before you saw frozen meatballs in the store much; so I made mine from scratch. A couple of pounds of lean ground beef, roll meatballs in dried onions, brown in skillet. Then put in crockpot and add grape jelly, ketchup and mustard and a little Worchester. Anyway, I never was cooking for a huge amount of people, so not a big deal. I may try this - sounds so easy and have had some before probably made just this way that were delicious!

The purpose for my wanting this recipe is because it's so quick and easy, and for me, nothing else is needed. I'm taking it to our office holiday food fest this afternoon. While I would use chili sauce as I have in the past, I couldn't reach the last bottle on the top back shelf at the store, so I used hot and spicy ketchup. I'll take an empty crock pot home today.
