CRACKER - JACKS | |
1 1/2 c. unpopped popcorn 2 c. brown sugar 2 sticks butter 3/4 c. white syrup 1/2 tsp. baking soda 2 c. peanuts In a large pan boil sugar, syrup and butter to a soft-ball stage. Remove from heat and add soda. Stir rapidly as soda will cause mixture to bubble quickly. Pour over popped corn and peanuts. Bake 1 1/2 hours in 250 degree oven. Stir every 15 minutes. After Cracker Jacks are cooled, store in airtight container. |
