MUSHROOM APPETIZERS 
1 large onion, chopped
3/4 lb. fresh mushrooms, chopped
1 tbsp. butter
1/4 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
12 oz. cream cheese
1/2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
dash of Tabasco
1 loaf thin sliced bread

Sauté the first 2 ingredients in butter for 2 minutes. Take off heat. Season with salt and pepper. Add the cream cheese. Stir into mixture until melted and smooth. Add Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder and Tabasco. Set aside for 1 hour.

Trim crust from the bread and flatten with rolling pin. Spread mixture on bread and roll like a log. Hold with toothpick until set. Chill or freeze. Slice into bite size pieces and place on a cookie sheet with a dot of butter and bake at 350°F for 15 minutes. Turn and bake until light brown.
