CURRIED HAMBURGER AND FRUIT | |
1 lb. ground beef 1 tbsp. all purpose flour 1 (8 1/4 oz.) can pineapple chunks 1 1/2 tsp. instant beef bouillon granules 1 med. apple, cored & chopped 1 med. onion, chopped 1/2 tsp. salt 2-3 tsp. curry powder Hot cooked rice In a 10" skillet cook ground beef and chopped onion until meat is browned and onion is tender. Drain off fat. Sprinkle the meat mixture with the flour, salt and pepper. Stir to combine. Drain pineapple, reserving the syrup. Add enough water to the reserved syrup to measure 1 cup liquid. Stir the pineapple liquid, curry powder and bouillon granules into the meat mixture. Cook and stir until thickened and bubbly. Cook and stir 1 minute more. Stir in pineapple chunks and chopped apple. Simmer, covered about 5 minutes or until heated through. Serve over hot cooked rice. Top each serving with chopped nuts or raisins, if desired. Serves 4. |
