WHOLE WHEAT AND OATMEAL BREAD 
4 tbsp. butter
1 c. oatmeal
1 tsp. salt
1/2 c. honey
1 pt. boiling water
1 pkg. rapid rise yeast
Whole wheat flour

Put first 4 ingredients in bowl. Add 1 cup boiling water. Stir until shortening is dissolved. Add yeast and other cup of water. Beat for several minutes. Add 2 cups of flour and continue beating for several minutes. Then add 3 or more cups of flour until you can knead it. Knead for several minutes.

Cover in warm place and let rest for 30 minutes. Shape into loaves and let rise until nearly double. Should be 2 large or 3 medium size loaves. Bake 25 minutes at 350 degrees.
