MARINATED CARROTS 
8 to 10 medium carrots, cut into strips
1/4 c. salad oil
1 1/2 tbsp. vinegar
1 tbsp. chopped green pepper
1/2 tsp. dry mustard
1 tsp. paprika
1 small clove garlic, minced
1 tbsp. chopped green onion or instant onion
1/8 tsp. pepper
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. basil
1 tbsp. lemon juice

Cook carrots in 1-inch boiling water for 5 minutes; drain. Combine the rest of the ingredients; mix well and pour over the carrots. Refrigerate for 1 hour or overnight and serve cold.
