FRESH APPLE BREAD 
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. butter
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 1/2 to 3 c. chopped apples
1/2 c. chopped nuts
1 tsp. vanilla

Sift together first 3 ingredients. Cream together butter, sugar and eggs. Add apples, nuts and vanilla to creamed ingredients. Stir in flour mixture. Pour into greased loaf pan. Sprinkle with topping.

Bake at 350°F for 1 hour.

Topping:

1/4 c. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon

Makes 1 loaf. Freezes well.
