1 c. sugar
1/4 c. butter of butter
2 sq. unsweetened chocolate, melted
1 egg
1/2 c. sour milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. boiling water

Grease and flour 9 x 9 cake pan. Cream together first 4 ingredients. Mix in next 3 ingredients. Add soda and water last and mix well. Pour into prepared pan.

Bake 45 minutes at 350 degrees. Cool and frost.
