2 large apples, peeled and diced
1 cup sugar
1/3 cup melted butter or oil
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 tsp. cloves
1/2 cup nuts
1 egg

Sprinkle sugar over the apples and let stand 10 minutes. Add oil and egg. Sift in dry ingredients. Add nuts. Pour into a small greased and floured tube pan. Bake at 350°F about 50 minutes.
