ENGLISH TOFFEE 
2 c. sugar
1/2 c. Karo syrup
1 pkg. (12 oz.) chocolate chips
1 lb. real butter
Chopped nuts OR unsalted sunflower seeds for topping

Melt butter, sugar and syrup. Stir constantly on medium heat until it comes to hard crack stage on candy thermometer. Pour on buttered wax paper. Sprinkle chocolate chips, they will melt, spread evenly with knife and top with nuts. When cool, break into pieces.
