1/2 c. butter, softened 3/4 c. granulated sugar 1 lg. egg 1 tsp. vanilla 1 c. flour 1/2 c. unsweetened cocoa powder 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1 (6 oz.) can pecans, chopped (about 1 1/2 c.) 1 (6 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips Heat oven to 375 degrees. In large bowl, with electric mixer at medium speed, beat butter, sugar, egg, vanilla, flour, cocoa, and baking soda until thoroughly blended and smooth. Stir in pecans and chocolate chips. Drop dough by 1/4 cupfuls onto ungreased large cookie sheet, spacing about 2 inches apart. Using hands, flatten dough into 3 1/2 inch rounds. Bake 10 minutes until dry to touch, but still soft. Let cookies cool on cookie sheets 2 minutes, using metal spatula. Remove to wire racks to cool completely. Makes about 10 cookies. |
