CHILI BEANS 
2 lbs. ground beef
1 c. onions
1/2 c. green peppers
2 tbsp. olive oil
2 (15 oz.) cans tomato sauce
1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
1 (15 oz.) can kidney beans
1 (12 oz.) jar mild picante salsa
2 tsp. garlic powder
3 tbsp. chili powder
1 tsp. sugar
2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. pepper

Crumble and brown ground beef. Drain fat and set beef aside. Saute onions and green peppers in olive oil. Add beef and remaining ingredients. Simmer for at least 30 minutes, although slightly longer cooking time may enhance flavor. Serve with nachos or sprinkle grated cheddar cheese and/or chopped raw onions on top of each serving.
