APPLE KUCHEN 
1/2 c. sugar
1 tbsp. shortening
1 egg
2/3 c. milk
1 1/4 tsp. baking powder
1 1/3 c. flour
Pinch of salt

Place apples on top of batter and put topping over apples. (Apples should be peeled and cut in 8 pieces per apple.)

TOPPING: Mix 3/4 cup sugar, 1 tablespoon flour, a little cinnamon and a large tablespoon butter with a fork and sprinkle on top. Bake 9"x13" pan slowly at 350 degrees for 45 to 60 minutes.
