BEEF STROGANOFF | |
1 1/2 lb. sirloin steak, cut in 1/2 inch strips 1/4 c. flour 1 finely chopped onion 3 tbsp. fat 1 clove chopped garlic 1 c. beef broth 1 tsp. salt 1 can mushroom pieces 2 tbsp. flour 1 c. sour cream 1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce Roll steak in 1/4 cup flour and salt. Pan fry onions, mushrooms, and garlic in fat for 5 minutes. Add steak and brown evenly, then remove meat, onions, mushrooms, and garlic from pan. Combine 2 tablespoons flour with drippings in the pan and make into a paste. Add beef broth and Worcestershire sauce. Cook until thickened. Lower heat and add sour cream and let gravy simmer for 5 minutes. Add meat and vegetables. Serves 5. Cooking time is about 20 minutes. Serve over rice, toast or noodles. |
