BEEF RIBS 
4 lbs. lean beef spareribs
1/4 c. sake
2 tbsp. ginger root, ground
1 tbsp. lemon juice
1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/2 c. soy sauce
6 cloves garlic, minced
1 tbsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. ground cloves
1/4 tsp. aniseed, crushed

Cut ribs into 2 to 3 rib portions and place in an airtight container. Combine rest of ingredients and pour over ribs. Cover and keep in refrigerator overnight. Remove from container and place on rack in a roasting pan. Baste with marinade and cover. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 2 hours or until tender, basting with marinade occasionally.
