CHOCOLATE MARBLE POUND CAKE 
1/2 c. chocolate chips
3/4 c. butter
3/4 c. sugar
3 lg. eggs
1/4 c. milk
1 tsp. almond extract
1 1/2 c. flour
3/4 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt

Melt chips and set aside. Blend butter and sugar until smooth. Beat in eggs, milk, almond extract, flour, baking powder and salt. Beat at medium for 3 minutes. Remove 1 cup batter and blend in chocolate. Spoon alternately both batters into a greased loaf pan. Run a knife through to produce the marble effect. Bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes or until toothpick is clean. Cool in pan on rack for 10 minutes then remove.

I was attracted to this recipe because its made in a loaf pan and because of the simple pantry ingredients, but the flavor and excellent texture belies its humble beginnings. This recipe is a keeper! Moist, chocolately, stores well for several days if well wrapped. I did add one tsp of vanilla with the one tsp of almond extract. I will be making this recipe again and again!
