AMISH BREAD | |
STARTER DOUGH: 1 c. flour 1 c. sugar 1 c. milk Cover loosely. Days 1, 2, 3, 4 stir once a day. On day number 5 add 1 cup flour, 1 cup sugar and 1 cup milk. On days 6, 7, 8, 9, stir once each day. On day 10 add 1 cup flour, 1 cup sugar, and 1 cup milk. Remove three one cup servings and put in three individual containers and give to three of your friends with a copy of this recipe. To the remaining portion add 1 cup sugar, 1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder, 2/3 cups cooking oil, 1/2 teaspoon baking soda, 3 eggs, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 2 cups flour, 1 teaspoon cinnamon and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Add one or more the following: 2 to 3 chopped apples, crushed pineapple, coconut, nuts, raisins, dates or three finely shredded carrots. Bake in 2 greased and floured loaf pans at 350 degrees for 50 minutes. When you give a portion to a friend tell them to start at day 3. |
