I have had this salad and believe ie was made with a light,clear, sweet salad dressing.
With so many different salad dressing available, what should I use for a light, sweet,clear dressing on my Broccoli cauliflower salad?

Try a homemade vinaigrette made with extra virgin olive oil, red wine vinegar, a pinch each of fresh basil and oregano (or to taste) and some crushed fresh garlic. Let the garlic marinate in the vinegar alone for 10 minutes before adding the remaining ingredients to take off the "edge".

The dressing your talking about is usually 1 cup of mayo, 1/2 cup of sugar and 2 tablespoons of white vinegar. Just whisk together.

have a problem, my broccoli is not real crunchy, I need it to be crunchy and crisp for my salad ? Any ideas to get it this way???????? Or purchase more ? thanks

Steam the broccoli by using a mesh basket or colander over boiling water; cover and cook until the broccoli is a bright green (not an olive green). Drop into a pan of ice water to stop the cooking.

You can peel some of the outside of the bottom portion off by peeling/pulling strips upward. You don't need to do a complete job of peeling; removing some of the toughest outer stem is enough.

I have made this recipe for years but mine called for sugar added and is the absolute best recipe ever. Much better the second day and always a favorite.
