MICROWAVE GRAHAM CRACKER PRALINE
COOKIES
 
12 graham crackers
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup chopped pecans

Place single layer graham crackers in 11x7-inch glass dish.

Put butter in 1-quart microwaveable bowl. Microwave 30 seconds. Stir in brown sugar; microwave 2 1/2 minutes. Stir in pecans.

Spread mixture over graham crackers. Microwave for 2 minutes, turning after 1 minute.

Cool and cut in half along lines in graham crackers.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.

I followed the directions exactly to make this recipe which was like one my mother used to make. The brown sugar clumped up, separating from the butter. I tried to mix the pecans in, and it all burned in the microwave. Not worth experimenting with.

Microwaves have been getting more powerful over the years. Your mother's microwave was likely 700 watts. You can read the wattage of YOUR oven from the label then use the power-level setting to drop it to 700 watt equivalent. Or adjust the time, or both!
