AMERICAN FRIED POTATOES 
1/2 c. butter
5 to 6 med. potatoes, pared & thinly sliced
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper

Preheat breakfast skillet for 2 minutes over medium heat. Melt butter. Add potatoes, salt and pepper. Cover and fry over medium-low heat for 12 to 15 minutes.

Uncover, turn potatoes and brown other side for 10 minutes. Loosen occasionally. Makes 6 servings.

Wonderful. May want to cut back to a bit less butter like 1/3 or 1/4 cup of butter. I will try that next time and see. My mother used to cook it when I was growing up. This recipe is much simple. My mother used to put a layer of potato slices and dots of butter. Then put another layer and butter, etc. thank you for posting this recipe. My mother would add eggs to go with this for a simple dinner. I also add leftover ham with the menu.
