SPICED PICKLED PEACHES 
5 c. sugar
2 c. water
1 c. vinegar
1 (2") stick cinnamon, broken
2 tsp. whole cloves
Small peeled peaches (whole), enough for 2 to 3 pints

Heat first 5 ingredients to boiling. Heat peaches in syrup about 5 minutes. Put hot fruit in jars; add syrup to within 1/2" of top. Adjust lids. Cook 20 minutes in water bath. 7 pounds fruit yields 9 pints.
