SPLIT PEA SOUP WITH HAM BONE | |
1 1/2 bags split peas 1 ham bone 4-5 onions, diced 4 stalks celery, diced Salt and pepper to taste Soak peas in water overnight. Soak ham in water overnight (separate bowls). Put ham and peas in kettle, add water to desired level. Add vegetables and simmer on low for 3-4 hours. NOTE: After 2 hours, pull out bone, trim ham chunks and put back in soup. Throw bone away. |
