RICH COOKIE DOUGH FOR FRUIT PIES 
1/4 pound butter - cream and add 1/4 cup sugar. Add 1 full cup of flour. Work in with fork. Add 1 egg yolk or whole egg if you please, and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Put right into pan and press dough into pan and up sides with a little flour on the hands to prevent sticking. Sprinkle bread or cracker crumbs on bottom of dough. Put fruit mixture for pie into the pan and bake about 1 hour at 350 degrees, starting oven at 400 degrees and then lower temperature after a few minutes, until done.
