FUNNEL CAKES 
1 egg
1 1/3 c. flour
1/4 tsp. baking powder
2/3 c. milk
4 tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. baking soda

Beat egg, then add milk and dry ingredients. Stir until smooth. Use a funnel or a spoon to drop batter into hot oil. If batter is too thick for funnel, add small amounts of milk and stir slowly. Use 1/2 cup batter for each funnel cake. Fry until lightly browned on both sides.

Drain on paper towels. While hot sprinkle with powdered sugar, or you can use honey or syrup or your favorite icing. Optional: You can add 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon to the batter.
