WALNUT CINNAMON SQUARES | |
1 c. butter 1 c. sugar 1 egg, separated 2 c. sifted flour 1 tsp. ground cinnamon 1 c. finely chopped walnuts 1. Cream butter and sugar. 2. Beat in egg yolk. 3. Sift together flour and cinnamon. 4. Stir into mixture. 5. Pour into 15 1/2 x 10 1/2 x 1 inch pan. 6. Beat egg white. Brush over top of dough. 7. Sprinkle nuts over the dough and press in. Bake at 275 degrees for 1 hour. While hot, cut into 1 1/2 inch squares. Cool in pan. Makes 5 1/2 dozen. |
