FAMILY REUION MULTI-BEAN BAKED
BEANS

Now understand I am not a professional chef. Therefore I will not give you calorie count or even amount of servings. However, what I will tell you is if you decide to make this for your family reunion, I will NOT be held responsible for what may follow. You WILL be required to make it for every other family function that follows!

2 (28 oz. ea.) cans of your favorite baked beans
1 (15 oz.) can dark red kidney beans (drained)
1 (15 oz.) can northern beans (drained)
1 (15 oz.) can butter beans (drained)
1 (15 oz.) can red beans (drained)
1 (15 oz.) can black beans (drained)
1 (15 oz.) can pinto beans (drained)
1 lb. flank steak, cut into small bite size pieces
1 lb. pork loin, cut into small bite size pieces
1 lb. hot Italian sausage, skinned and rolled into small mouth sized meatballs
2 medium onions, diced
1 (1 lb.) bag brown sugar
1/3 cup spicy mustard
1/2 cup ketchup (Hunts)
3 tbsp. liquid smoke (preferably hickory)
1 tbsp. onion powder
1 (12 oz.) bottle boysenberry or grape syrup (the secret ingredient!)

Note: Feel free to substitute your favorite bean for any of the 6 assorted.

Preparation time will be about 1 hour.

Mix well all ingredients into one big freakin' slow cooker. Cover and cook on HIGH for 1 hour then remove cover and continue cooking on LOW until desired thickness is reached. This will not be a thick pasty dish!

Makes a helluva lot!!! But, fear not, freezes well in family size portions for those later dinner sides or as a dish by itself.

Absolutely delicious!! I couldn't find the needed fruit syrup in my small-town grocery so used grape jelly instead -- yum!! My grandson said he wants this for his birthday dinner.
