3 lg. cloves garlic 2-3 fresh chili peppers 1 jalapeno pepper 2 lg. Spanish onions 2-3 lb. cubed chuck steak, 1" cubes 1 lg. can crushed tomatoes 3 fresh tomatoes Basil-oregano to taste 1 pkg. tortillas Brown cubed chuck steak in 2 tablespoon oil. Drain all but 1 tablespoon dripping. Add chopped garlic, peppers and onions. Saute until soft. Add can tomatoes. Simmer, stirring occasionally for 60-90 minutes until meat is tender. Chop fresh tomatoes are added when meat is tender along with basil and oregano. Simmer for 15 more minutes. Serve with tortillas. Red kidney beans can be added also good with 1/2 cup red wine or 1 can beer while meat is simmering. |
