MICROWAVE JAM BARS 
1/4 c. butter, softened
1/4 c. sugar
1 egg
1/2 c. flour
1/4 c. ground walnuts
1/2 tsp. lemon peel
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/8 tsp. salt
1/2 c. strawberry or raspberry jam

TOPPING:

1/2 c. flour
1/4 c. brown sugar
3 tbsp. softened butter

With electric mixer cream butter, sugar, add eggs, flour, walnuts, lemon peel, cinnamon, and salt. Mix well. Pat mixture into an 8 inch square baking dish. Heat at high 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 minutes or until center is slightly firm. Meanwhile mix topping ingredients together until mix resembles coarse crumbs. spread jam on top of baked crust. Sprinkle topping over jam. Heat at high 3 to 3 1/2 minutes or until jam bubbles around edge. Let stand until cool. Yields 16 bars.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
