OLD FASHIONED CUSTARD ICE CREAM 
3/4 c. sugar
1 tbsp. cornstarch
1/4 tsp. salt
2 c. milk, scalded
2 whole eggs or 4 yolks, slightly beaten
2 c. heavy cream
1 tbsp. vanilla

Mix sugar, cornstarch and salt; gradually stir in milk until smooth. Cook on low heat, stir constantly 10 minutes or until slightly thick. Remove from heat, gradually beat 1/2 cup of mixture into eggs. Add to pan, cook 2 minutes longer. Cool. Stir in vanilla and cream, pour in freezer.
