PECAN PIE SURPRISE BARS 
1 pkg. yellow cake mix
1/2 c. butter, soft
1 egg
1 c. chopped pecans

FILLING:

2/3 c. reserved dry cake mix
1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1 1/2 c. dark Karo
1 tsp. vanilla
3 eggs

Grease bottom and sides of 9x13 inch baking pan. In large mixing bowl, combine cake mix (save 2/3 cup for filling), butter, and egg. Mix until crumbly. Press in prepared pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes until light golden brown.

Meanwhile, prepare filling. Pour filling over partially baked crust. Sprinkle with pecans. Return to oven and bake 30-35 minutes until filling sets. Cool and cut.
