LUNCH BOX BARS 
3/4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/3 tsp. salt
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 egg
1 tbsp. water
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 c. quick rolled oats
1/3 c. chopped pecans
1 (6 oz.) pkg. milk chocolate bits

Sift flour, soda and salt; set aside. Cream together the butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar and egg. Add sifted ingredients and blend. Then add water and vanilla. Then add the rolled oats, nuts and chocolate bits.

Grease 7x11 Pyrex dish or pan and spread batter evenly in it and bake 20-25 minute at 300 degrees or less. Check often so they don't get too brown. Test with toothpick. Put icing on them if desired, or just cut into bars.
