DUTCH PEA SOUP | |
1 lb. dried split green peas 9 c. cold water 1 c. chopped onion 1/2 c. chopped celery 1 c. cut up ham 1 bay leaf 1/4 tsp. dried thyme leaves 2 tsp. salt 1/8 tsp. pepper Put everything in heavy pan - bring to boil, then reduce hat and simmer (covered) for 3 to 3 1/2 hours. 218 calories per cup. |
