CHILI CON CARNE | |
3 tbsp. oil 1 lg. onion, chopped 1 green pepper, diced 1 lb. ground beef 1 (16 oz.) can tomatoes 1 can tomato soup 1/2 tsp. paprika 1/8 tsp. cayenne 1 bay leaf 1 tbsp. chili powder 1 clove garlic, mashed 1 (16 oz.) kidney beans Preheat fry pan at 325 degrees. Heat the oil then add onion, green pepper, and ground beef. Break up meat as it cooks and continue to cook, stirring occasionally until brown. Set control at 210 degrees. Add canned tomatoes, tomato soup, paprika, cayenne, bay leaf, chili powder, and stir well. Cover and cook 1 hour, stirring occasionally. Add a little boiling water if mixture gets too thick. Combine 1 mashed clove garlic and beans and add to meat mixture and heat to boiling. Serve with shredded cheddar cheese on top. |
